Joia Edwards
Joia is a highly qualified nanny and homeschool educator. A student of SUMISTOUCH Doula School, Joia's ultimate passion lies in providing quality childcare to children beginning in their mother's womb.
Joia Edwards is a passionate educator and childcare provider. She has extensive expertise with young children and adolescents, including children who’ve been diagnosed with disabilities and mental illness. A longtime resident of the DMV area, Ms. Edwards understands that every child faces his or her own challenges, and deserves to be seen as an individual. Through working in various educational settings, Ms. Edwards has built relationships that have earned her trust and respect in the community of parents, students, and fellow educators who come into contact with her.
History of Our Organization
Quality Care Childcare Service, INC. was created in 2016 out of the need for quality, safe, and affordable childcare that was unavailable for Our Founder's then 2-year-old child.
After a year and a half of tried and failed childcare solutions, Joia Edwards decided to step down from her position in the public school system to provide the care she knew her child deserved. From the conception of the organization education, black excellence, and whole child-centered care have been our mission. In 2019, we began offering abolitionist elementary educational programming. In 2022 we extended our scope of nanny and homeschool education to Full Spectrum Doula Support. Today, we've come to believe that childcare begins within our mother's womb.
